• "It was not always a given that the United States and America would have a close relationship. After all, 60 years we were at war 60 years ago we were at war." — June 29, 2006, at the White House, where Bush met with Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi.

I read an interesting rebutale today on yahoo news via the AP that I thought I would sahre with you all. It is basically all about the lies perpertrated during her big "speech to nowhere"

PALIN: "I have protected the taxpayers by vetoing wasteful spending ... and championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. I told the Congress 'thanks but no thanks' for that Bridge to Nowhere."

THE FACTS: As mayor of Wasilla, Palin hired a lobbyist and traveled to Washington annually to support earmarks for the town totaling $27 million. In her two years as governor, Alaska has requested nearly $750 million in special federal spending, by far the largest per-capita request in the nation. While Palin notes she rejected plans to build a $398 million bridge from Ketchikan to an island with 50 residents and an airport, that opposition came only after the plan was ridiculed nationally as a "bridge to nowhere."

PALIN: "There is much to like and admire about our opponent. But listening to him speak, it's easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform — not even in the state senate."

THE FACTS: Compared to McCain and his two decades in the Senate, Obama does have a more meager record. But he has worked with Republicans to pass legislation that expanded efforts to intercept illegal shipments of weapons of mass destruction and to help destroy conventional weapons stockpiles. The legislation became law last year. To demean that accomplishment would be to also demean the work of Republican Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana, a respected foreign policy voice in the Senate. In Illinois, he was the leader on two big, contentious measures in Illinois: studying racial profiling by police and requiring recordings of interrogations in potential death penalty cases. He also successfully co-sponsored major ethics reform legislation.

PALIN: "The Democratic nominee for president supports plans to raise income taxes, raise payroll taxes, raise investment income taxes, raise the death tax, raise business taxes, and increase the tax burden on the American people by hundreds of billions of dollars."

THE FACTS: The Tax Policy Center, a think tank run jointly by the Brookings Institution and the Urban Institute, concluded that Obama's plan would increase after-tax income for middle-income taxpayers by about 5 percent by 2012, or nearly $2,200 annually. McCain's plan, which cuts taxes across all income levels, would raise after tax-income for middle-income taxpayers by 3 percent, the center concluded.

Obama would provide $80 billion in tax breaks, mainly for poor workers and the elderly, including tripling the Earned Income Tax Credit for minimum-wage workers and higher credits for larger families.

He also would raise income taxes, capital gains and dividend taxes on the wealthiest. He would raise payroll taxes on taxpayers with incomes above $250,000, and he would raise corporate taxes. Small businesses that make more than $250,000 a year would see taxes rise.

MCCAIN: "She's been governor of our largest state, in charge of 20 percent of America's energy supply ... She's responsible for 20 percent of the nation's energy supply. I'm entertained by the comparison and I hope we can keep making that comparison that running a political campaign is somehow comparable to being the executive of the largest state in America," he said in an interview with ABC News' Charles Gibson.

THE FACTS: McCain's phrasing exaggerates both claims. Palin is governor of a state that ranks second nationally in crude oil production, but she's no more "responsible" for that resource than President Bush was when he was governor of Texas, another oil-producing state. In fact, her primary power is the ability to tax oil, which she did in concert with the Alaska Legislature. And where Alaska is the largest state in America, McCain could as easily have called it the 47th largest state — by population.

MCCAIN: "She's the commander of the Alaska National Guard. ... She has been in charge, and she has had national security as one of her primary responsibilities," he said on ABC.

THE FACTS: While governors are in charge of their state guard units, that authority ends whenever those units are called to actual military service. When guard units are deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan, for example, they assume those duties under "federal status," which means they report to the Defense Department, not their governors. Alaska's national guard units have a total of about 4,200 personnel, among the smallest of state guard organizations.

FORMER ARKANSAS GOV. MIKE HUCKABEE: Palin "got more votes running for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska than Joe Biden got running for president of the United States."

THE FACTS: A whopper. Palin got 616 votes in the 1996 mayor's election, and got 909 in her 1999 re-election race, for a total of 1,525. Biden dropped out of the race after the Iowa caucuses, but he still got 76,165 votes in 23 states and the District of Columbia where he was on the ballot during the 2008 presidential primaries.

FORMER MASSACHUSETTS GOV. MITT ROMNEY: "We need change, all right — change from a liberal Washington to a conservative Washington! We have a prescription for every American who wants change in Washington — throw out the big-government liberals, and elect John McCain and Sarah Palin."

THE FACTS: A Back-to-the-Future moment. George W. Bush, a conservative Republican, has been president for nearly eight years. And until last year, Republicans controlled Congress. Only since January 2007 have Democrats have been in charge of the House and Senate.

In Saudia Arabia there was another stone age era court decision. A women was gang raped by 7 men after she was yanked from her car becuase she was riding with a male that was a non relative. That in itself is simply absurd. So after she was raped and beat she was then sentenced to 200 lashes on the back along with 6 months in jail. Make sense to you? To 99% of normal humans it doesnt make sense but the retards known as Saudi's its perfectly ok and acceptable. If it was wasnt for the media this story would go untold. It happens on a regular basis and I know there are other incidents that go unreported.

It's time we cut the oil umbilical cord from these stone age era monsters and let them toil in their own shit. There society is behind the rest of the world by an easy 200-300 years and if it wasnt for oil the king and his family would be counting their riches by how many goats they owned and not by how many jets they own. Saudi's are trash and I am embarrased as an American that we feed them like we do. The faster we bring alternative fules to market the faster Saudi's will lose their grip on the world via their oil.

I personally would like to flog the Saudi royalty. F them

I must make something very clear for our readers that might not know the truth about one of our "allies"

The kingdom of saudi arabia is not what they seem. They are a collection of liars, hypocrites, thieves, cheats, scoundrels and a nursery for tommorows terrorists. One only has to look at the demographics of the 9/11 terrorists and those that are captured or killed in Iraq as evidence that Saudi Arabia is where most of these fools are from. That bearded moron, Osama, is of Saudi origin himself. Saudis tought themselves as modern and partners in the new world order but the truth is anything but that. They are a collection of neo right winged hypcritical muslims. Typical of most neo-morons they use religion as a weapon against its public but hardly pratice any themselves. They have taken the words from the Quran and transformed them into their liking. They have butchered the text and given intrepetations that go beyond what any normal reader would take away from it.

My father spent some time Saudi a few years ago and he has 1st hand knowledge of how ignorant and racist Saudi's are. They arrest, beat, torture anyone who is not arab and is found owning a buisness. They have delegated all the labor jobs to foreigners and their own working class poor. Saudi Arabia is nowhere near the postcards and pics we see on TV. They have one goal and one goal only. That is to fill their coffers with more oil money.

Their leadership is simply a farce from the gate. Their history is something if not for the oil found under their lands would mimic the stone aged living conditions found in Afghanistan. They were a land of several waring tribes and they were hundreds of years behind most of the modern world. if it wasnt for theol they still would be running as nomads in the desert herding their goats. The king and his lineage is nothing more than the typical hostile takeover when they discovered that someone has to take control in order to take control of the money that was under their feet. They perpetuate their bogus version of Islam and continue to not pratice what they preach. I was told a funny story by a flight attendant who served on Saudi flights. She said Saudi's would board the airplane in their traditional garb but once they hit the air they would chnage into Armani suits and quickly order some Scotch on the rocks! So much for being the "good muslims" they all claim to be.

Saudi Arabis' human rights record is something that is nothing short of a disgrace to decent humans all over the world. They dont allow women to do anything including a basic functions such as driving a car and being out in public by themselves. They claim this becuase the women making contact with men mightled to sin. Would it not make more sense to punish the men involved in the "act of sin" Arab men are nothing short of pigs drsssed up as humans. The amount of sexism and racism is simply sickening. They delegate the entire burden of trying to be free from sin onto the women and hold the male harmless in any case that might arise from this. They even enforce a millenium old rule that if a women claims rape agaisnt a man she must produce 3-5 witnesses. This is simply stacking the cards and is the work of clerics who themselves have raped and wanted to change the rules to protect themselves and their bastard sons who were involved in such deeds.

Women in that country have to dress up as men to be able to get jobs as taxi drivers. Recently they have started lobbying the government to get the driving ban lifted against women. It has a snowballs chance in hell from passing and it seems this will be the way until the royal family has someone rise to power that is moderate.

Make no mistake, the only reason why they are our "friends" is becuase of oil. If it wasnt for the oil Iran would be 3 times its size. The Saudi's have zero technology or anything for that matter to offer to anyone. They simply drill and sell and thats it. Lets hope that electric cars become popular so we can put a dent inot their pockets or even better the oil reserves dry up.

My almost new best friend Newt Gingrich is at it again. This time he along with several other key republians are calling for the removal Roberto Gonzalez. I dont know how genuine his commenst are but he does make a point by saying that he will be involved in countless hearings for the rest of the administration's time in office. I have to agree with this. Gonzalez is nothing more than a political pawn used and abused like many in this administration.

The firings at the heart of this furor were nothing more than a political move dictated by his boss, Emperor Bush, who didnt want Democrats to throw a monkey wrench in his Gestapo game plan thats been the defacto "course of action" since 911.

I hope they send Gonzalez to the gallows for this one. He nor his assocaites should be able to get away with shit!

Newt Gingrich recently spoke out against bi lingual voting ballots at a meeting of the Womens Republican party or whatever they are called nowawdays. I will concede I agree with him. I can respect the difficulties of being an immigrant in this country and having to face the language barrier. I myself was once a non english speaker and there were thousands of others like me in my community but we learned and thrived in our environment.

Gingrich didnt say it out right but we all know he is taking about Spanish. Sure latinos are a large population now, they work hard, do jobs no one else wants to do and so forth BUT that does not excuse you from speaking the common language. I learned to speak english along with 2 other languages growing up and I will admit I have yet to master any of them but I am capable of placing a vote, filling out a form and just about any other task that requires me to read and understand english.

When I was growing up I was in a very large area of mixed ethniticities. We had people from over 40 countires in my school. The difference between now and then was we ALL learned to speak english and many went on to advanced english courses as they progressed. There was pride in being from another country and learning our new homes language and inserting ourselves into the fabric of the common culture. I get the feeling Latinos dont want to learn and use the "poor me" excuse as a crutch to get everything from voting ballots to highways signs in spanish. I say fuck that, learn or be left behind.

Part of me thinks the govt will appease them and give them bilingual access so they will not be truley able to participate in govt or social affairs. Sounds like another way to control a minority population? Keep them dumb and in their own little circles to keep them out of ours and the ones that truly matter. hmm..
